Why is This Controversial Again? . . . Oh. . . . Yeah. . . .

The Universal Declaration 

The PREAMBLE begins:

Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world, . . . 

What follows the Preamble is 30 RIGHTS to which some feel they are entitled but others are not, including . . .

Article 3.

Everyone has the right to life, liberty 
and security of person.
Sound familiar?

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. . . .
