[To make a prairie] (1755)

bee on clover blossom

  
To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee,
One clover, and a bee.
And revery.
The revery alone will do,
If bees are few.

  1. I love that poem. I live in a town named Eden Prairie, and our local library has that inscribed in stone on its exterior.

      I read that the bee population was down by more than 30% last year. Considering how important they are to our world as it is, that's ominous - and sad.
